Hi guys, I am heavily obese, morbidly actually. I weight 295 pounds and I feel like I am stuck in a void. I can’t get anything to go right for me. I started working out, but I quit too fast due to my knees hurting too much. I tried dieting, but I have been having trouble stopping myself from eating Mcdonalds.

What did you guys do to get your motivation going?

I used to be heavy as well, and my friend gave me the best advice. He told me, to start with something you would like to do. Maybe it’s a sport, a hobby that gets you outside, or something that just gets you moving more. For me, I took up bowling for a while. I wouldn’t say it helps you lose a lot of weight, but it got me moving. That was the start.

Start something simple, maybe play something like bowling or find a hobby where you can walk around. Maybe go fishing, try a new sport, etc. Just start off slow and simple. Don’t push yourself too hard either. My motivation came when I saw I was doing things outside, in the real world, and it helped me get into fitness and eating healthier.

It’s the small steps that help, it’s just how you continue is what makes you. Good luck! 🙂

Reward yourself at the end of every week, but only if you stick to your diet and exercise goals.

The reward can be anything you enjoy. From buying yourself something nice at the store, to taking the day off from work or going out with friends. Having little rewards each week can help motivate you and keep you on track.
