Does plank workout really help in building a strong core. I have heard a lot about it but not sure if it really helps in strengthening the core. Have you benefited from it?
PILATES will teach you how to use your different ‘core’ muscles, how they support each other, and how to train different combinations of them, with or without equipment.
planks will work everything, athough i tend to feel it mostly in my lower back. MOST of the workout is in the lower back area, and the abdomen, but there is some upper back work as well.
yes and no. Planks strengthen the core by using the muscles as stabilizers. abs low back obliques glutes shoulders hamstrings. You have 27 muscles that make your core. You must move your mid section in 6 different directions to contract and strengthen these muscles.
Have you tried holding plank position for core work. plank is push up position but just hold it. there are several variations. plank with forearms on the ground. plank with feet on a stability ball this is really hard and requires a lot of core muscles to hold you in position.
I do a lot of planks. They are a great exercise for your core, especially if you do all sorts of variations. I personally like to do normal planks and side planks, holding them for as long as I can.
