I don’t think it is wise to put too much pressure on yourself. Stressing too much on weight loss without following proper techniques can injure your body. Just workout as per your stamina along with calorie reduction and you should be fine.

I don’t think it’s dangerous. As it is a new workout for you, ensure that your posture is correct. Do it under the guidance of a trainer and you should be fine. Start with basic exercises and gradually increase the difficulty level.

You can increase your stamina gradually. Start by walking the last mile or a couple of miles to college. On treadmill, you can walk 1-2 miles per day and increase the distance by 10% every week. Once you build some stamina, you can try to increase the grade (incline) if your treadmill has that option.

I haven’t stopped it completely but I have reduced it to once a week. I think gradual change is better than sudden stop. The more you exercise, the easier it becomes to get rid of bad habits.

I have been to two treks till now – one easy and one moderate level. My next target is a moderate-difficult trek and I have a few months to prepare for it. So, I have been doing a mix of cardio and weight training.
