Morning normally but thanks to work and my horrible sleep, it has become a nightmare to get up and do it. I started exercising after dinner now and while I don’t enjoy it as much, it is better than nothing.
jimdean24ParticipantI only ever went as a guest twice and it is a decent place but not for me. I prefer local smaller gyms with fewer people around. There are plenty out there that stay open 24/7 as well so it is worth looking into all your options.
jimdean24ParticipantRecently, 50 pounds but when I was in my teens, I lost nearly 100 pounds over the course of one summer. Don’t ask me how I managed that either because I still have no clue to this day. My family thought I was on drugs. I was just very active and I think my hormones kicking into action did something. That, and I stopped soda, fast food, and junk food in general. I was too busy playing sports.
jimdean24ParticipantBlueberries are considered really good. Same with walnuts, chia seeds, wheatgrass, and many others. It really depends on your diet. I think superfoods are called that because they pack a lot of nutrition into a small amount of food.
jimdean24ParticipantThe only teas I drink are white and green. You can try green blends since you enjoy that. One that I like a lot is green ginger. I mix in a spoon of raw honey for a touch of sweetness. You can drink it hot or let it cool after the honey melts.
jimdean24ParticipantI was going to recommend pita bread but that is out the window! I really don’t know. I am not much of a bread guy. You can switch to wholegrain bread that has no sugar in it. It will be bland as hell but the fiber helps when you are dieting.
jimdean24ParticipantI lost 30 pounds on it myself but started feeling sick after a while so I switched my diet to a slow-carb one instead. You basically eat nothing but vegetables, meat, and fat on the keto diet. It is hard to stick to in my opinion but it does work for most people. I just wouldn’t go on it long term. Like no longer than 6 months without taking a few months off.
jimdean24ParticipantI have tried them but they don’t seem to be doing enough for me. I think my form may be off or I am not eating the right foods to actually put on more muscle. I have never been a big guy in terms of build. I was always skinny fat. I would like to get my biceps up a good 3 inches.
jimdean24ParticipantYou can do body resistant training. You use your body weight as the “weights”.
Doing things like situps, pushups, and similar things will use your own weight against you.
jimdean24ParticipantI will be honest, you are going to have a hard time losing weight and putting on muscle at the same time. This is why a lot of people will bulk up and then cut. You focus on eating a high protein high healthy fat diet when you are building muscle. Once you make gains, you cut and focus on cardio and muscle maintenence. At least that is how I have come to understand it.
jimdean24ParticipantI started weighing myself daily but ended up only weighing myself every 2 weeks now. I find that my weight shifts up and down depending on what I eat and drink so the 2-week gap is the most realistic evidence of my hard work.
jimdean24ParticipantThere is no one way to really speed it up, it depends on your body and what you are doing. Considering you are 5’3 and 123 pounds, you are at a healthy weight already so losing another 13 pounds is going to be harder and take longer.
jimdean24ParticipantIt can be dangerous if you are out of shape and just starting out. Some people overdue themselves and end up in the hospital from it. Just take it slow. You can always speak with your doctor prior to starting.
jimdean24ParticipantI only started recently. I don’t have a set schedule or an actual routine workout planned. I have been just doing what I know of 2 to 3 times a week but I want to take it more seriously to see some results.
